2010 Round-up so far...
James unfortunately was unable to raise the total amount of backing needed this year to compete in the Superstock 1000 team who had offered him a very competitive ride for 2010. He was, however offered a ride in the Harley Davidson Challenge on a Harley supplied by “The Foundary” in Canterbury. This went really well and although still mastering the different riding style needed for the Harley James had a fantastic 4th in the opening round at Oulton Park. Good fortune not to be continued though, unfortunately the team had to pull out of the Harley Challenge leaving James again with no ride.
Having to miss the Mallory round James was then picked up by another Harley Team, Cheltenham and Oxford with whom he got on really well, unfortunately though due to horrific weather at Knockhill and missing 2 rounds at Brands Hatch due to injury James was lagging behind in the points and riding time. However he managed to have an excellent ride at Cadwell where he finished 4th in the first race and finished the Championship with two podiums in 3rd position fantastic considering the lack of riding he suffered due to injury and team circumstances. In between the Harley rides he was filling in for Team GR Aprillia riding the Aprillia 1000 Superstock.
Again getting used to the bike and different class James was riding well. In the first round he managed to qualify in 22nd and was battling for a great 15th position when unfortunately due to mechanical failure he had to retire. In the Silverstone races he had a really poor qualifying session due to trying to set up the bike and a few mechanical gremlins James qualified 40th by finished a brilliant 19th receiving the Metzler Tyre award for this achievement. Knockhill – James was again battling for 12th place when unfortunately due to the really wet conditions he had to retire to a mechanical failure and then at Snetterton he was having a fantastic battle for 11th position when unfortunately he highsided and ended up with a broken collar bone putting him out for the next round of Brands, then due to the team taking on a replacement rider and James not being able to supply the team with any budget he was left to finish the season with the Harley Davidson at Cadwell which he thoroughly enjoyed and as you have read got brilliant results.
WORLD SUPERSTOCK RIDE
Racing Bogdanka an inch of points in the FIM Superstock 1000 at Nurburgring
Monday, 06 September 2010
On a new path for himself and the motorcycle, replacing the injured Martin Walkowiak in the colors of the Polish team, Bogdanka Racing, Briton James Webb only a hair's breadth from masterful missed points.
Marcin Walkowiak, youngest Motorcycle Polish champion and the first Polish player, who managed to win the prestigious series of points in the FIM Superstock 1000, still comes to you on the left shoulder injury. Bogdanka Racing Team has therefore decided to replace 19'latka Briton, James Webb, the eighth of ten rounds of the cycle, which last weekend took place at the German Nurburgring.
While pursuing every day in the British championship, Webb had never ridden on a particularly difficult, the German tour, or astride the Honda CBR1000RR, 21'latek did a very impressive. Already in the first workout free James showed great potential, finishing the session with the twentieth time in the rate of thirty players. It is true that the British take-off to qualify for the twenty-second position, but improved his time from the first session of up to three and a half seconds, and during Sunday's second race next stopped.
After an exciting, lasting eleven laps duel, Webb had the finish line in second place in the four-group, while just 0.3 seconds interrupting a duel to the fifteenth, the last bulleted item. Race won by Italy Ayrton Badovini.
Although Bogdanka Racing team this time failed to win the points, the team was impressed by the professionalism of his patient's temporary and common progress, not only in terms of lap times, but also setting a motorcycle. While grateful Brytyjczykowi very successful weekend, the team has, however, that during the penultimate round of the FIM Superstock 1000, accompanying a series of prestigious World Superbike world championships, the Imola track, come back to share Marcin Walkowiak.
James Webb
"It was a long weekend because I had to learn a completely new track and a motorcycle, but we made good progress. On Sunday we found a very good set, and machine during the race I could give my best. Of course, I deeply regret that I failed to win points, which I missed so much, but I hope that I will have the opportunity to represent Bogdanka Racing again one day. It's a great team who gave their all throughout the weekend, I felt as comfortable as possible with them. Sapiński Damian is one of the best chief engineers have ever worked with. They showed so much dedication. "
Igor Piasecki Bogdanka Racing Manager
"I am pleased that we could try to cooperate with the British player who, in the UK, not only is doing very well, but is also very popular. It was intense for us, but also a very successful weekend. James in the race past the twenty-second , on the sixteenth position and only the projection on the tape lost the battle for points. At the same time a great fit to the team, allowing us much better times and settings for your motorcycle. This is a very professional player who is able to accurately describe what happens to a motorcycle. This result, for his first start at this circuit, and motorcycles, is sensational. "

GR Motosport sign James Webb
Following a successful test we are very pleased to announce that James Webb will ride the GR - Aprilia RSV4 Factory at Cadwell Park next weekend.
The 20 year old former lap record holder from Tunbridge Wells completed 60 laps and the Team were extremely pleased with his cheery attitude and performance.
James Webb
“I was really pleased to get the call from Brent about riding at Cadwell as I had the lap record on the 600 and love the place. I have never ridden a 1000 before so my first impression of the Aprilia RSV4 Factory was just how small and fast it felt. As I settled in and got used to it I love the way it feels, by the end of the day I felt very comfortable and the lap times were quite good.
I would like to thank Brent and Tony for the opportunity and I am really looking forward to racing next week”
We had to make quite a few changes to the bike for James as he is nearly 20 Kilos lighter than Karl and likes the seating position set quite differently.
